As an experienced classroom exponent James Stretton is very familiar with the importance of giving students the opportunity to compose. A carefully crafted framework will inspire budding musicians of any age and ability to use rhythm, texture and imagination to create music.

The strands of the National Curriculum are incorporated through controlling sounds, developing musical ideas and learning to appraise performances. The instruments used will include any combination of those the school and students have plus a set of specially constructed colourful natural trumpets.
Students respond to the unique challenges of composing and performing music, ultimately this involvement aims to enrich both cognitive and social skills whilst actually engaged in a fun activity.
The composing workshops work well in conjunction with either a Formal Recital or Children’s Concert.
